Getting started
Now that you’ve purchased a Novel Effect Public Library Plan, it’s time to get your staff and volunteers set up with unlimited access to our soundscape and ebook library. A Customer Success Specialist will reach out to you as soon as possible to complete your account setup.
To simplify the process, a spreadsheet that includes staff and volunteer names, and email addresses is helpful. If you have these available now, feel free to download the template below. Once the setup is complete, your staff will receive an email from us to activate their accounts.

With a Library Patron Plan, you can offer your patrons two secure ways to access Novel Effect. They can login through your website or using their library card number and password within the Novel Effect app.

You have the power to shape our library! If you or your young readers adore and wish to see a book included in our ever-growing library, simply use the app to suggest it. Just tap MORE and then SUGGEST A BOOK. Your requests/suggestions help us grow our collection in ways that serve you best.

There are a few reasons why an error could occur. Check the specific error message to see if a reason is provided. Then, if you are on a wifi network, try again using cellular.
No problem! If their email address was included in the list you shared with our team, they’ll automatically be added to your Public Library Staff Plan.
If they currently have their own recurring subscription through the App Store or Google Play they will need to follow the instructions provided to them to opt out of their next renewal.
The Novel Effect app is compatible with mobile and tablet devices. It’s available to download for free in the App Store and in the Google Play Store. For our voice-driven book experience we recommend devices running iOS 11.0+ or Android 6.0 Marshmallow and up.
Go to the account login screen in the Novel Effect app and tap the link to reset your password. After entering your email address, you’ll receive an email with further instructions.

Log out of the app by visiting the MORE tab and taping log out. Once you are logged out, tap “log in” and select “sign in with Email.” When prompted for your email and password tap “reset password” below the main log in button and follow the in app instructions.

No problem! Head to our redemption page and provide the name and email address of the new user. You’ll need the School Plan ID for your school’s account, this has been provided to your Novel Effect main account holder!
All book activities can be found in you Novel Effect app. Just look for a cover with the pencil icon, then print or share right from there!
Yes, we do! We have a complete list of available soundscapes. You can also browse for books in your Novel Effect app by tapping BROWSE 🔎 at the bottom of the screen.
Not yet, but we are working on it! While a web-based Novel Effect app is still in Alpha testing we will be inviting a limited group of Read-Aloud Rockstars to join our Beta later this fall.
