Please, Mr. Panda Activitives for PreK-3rd Grade

Practice polite behavior with Novel Effect's Please Mr. Panda activities. They engage students in letter and sound recognition, cause and effect, and other literacy skills.

Plenty of Please, Mr. Panda Activities

When someone shows kindness, what do we say and do? What are the best ways to respectfully ask others for something? It takes practice to know when to say please and thank you to others. These Please, Mr. Panda activities will give students plenty of practice in politeness.

The No Prep Book activities are the perfect complement to Please Mr. Panda Novel Effect read-alouds. In addition to practicing politeness through literacy skills, these activities will keep students engaged. In addition to participating in the activities included, students will be able to:

  • practice letter recognition.
  • design a doughnut and write a polite question.
  • describe manners.
  • illustrate story elements.
  • practice how to respond politely.
  • respond to writing prompts.
  • complete opinion writing.
  • illustrate the cause and effects of the story.
  • complete a vocabulary Frayer model.
  • write about manners.
  • write about the story’s lesson.

The activities can be used to differentiate instruction for students, to give them a choice in learning, or to focus on specific skills.

About This Book

Patiently and politely, Mr. Panda asks the animals he comes across if they would a doughnut. A penguin, a skunk, and a whale all say yes, but they do not remember to ‘please’ and ‘thank you.”  Is anyone worthy of Mr. Panda’s doughnuts?
